Day 1Welcome to the CAE Knitting Club! Use this webpage to find stitches you've learned in class. Practice at home to improve your skills. I have 4 tips that may help you become awesome knitters.
1.) Have patience! It is perfectly normal and expected to make mistakes. Keep practicing and you will be able to create beautiful projects in no time. 2.) Look for inspiration? Look at knitting projects that you would like to make. It will encourage you to challenge yourself to learn new skills. 3.) Knit everyday! If you can knit something everyday. Your fingers will have muscle memory and knitting will become easier. 4.) Use your resources. I love that Youtube has videos for knitters of every level. Of course you can also ask me to help fix any issues you encounter. Basic Knit Stitch Video Garter Stitch Video |
Day 2Today I will be teaching you how to sew together your first project (the bangle). I will also demonstrate how to cast on for those of you ready to move onto a second project. Next week after more practice with the knit stitch at home, I will show you how to do the purl stitch.
Most importantly, I want to give you access to the world of video tutorials. That is how I learned to knit the second time around. If you want to re-learn or push yourself to the next level you can watch video tutorials like the ones provided here. Cast Off Video 1 Cast Off Video 2 Cast On Video 1 Cast On Video 2 |
Days 3 and 4Today we will work to complete the first project. We will also learn new skills, such as casting on and how to make a bunny from a knit square.

Day 5You guys have been doing an excellent job! However, you must know how to begin and end your own project.
For that reason, after you finish your rabbit you have to cast on 10 stitches by yourself and knit and purl until you make a square. Follow the videos below to practice casting on, knitting, and purling. Casting On (NEW) Casting off Basic Knit Stitch Video Purling (NEW) |
New BeginningsNew Supplies will be needed! Welcome back everyone. You will knit yourself a completely wearable hat. You can also use larger needles to knit a scarf, ear warmers, and many other chunky knitting projects.
I will send a supply list home. Please be sure to bring these things next week. I will help you cast begin your hat next Friday. It would be best at least half of you can come during your lunch or recess hour to cast on next week. Link in the picture |
